Beaumont Crowned Safer Neighbourhood Champions
The eagerly awaited Safer Neighbourhood Football Tournament returned at Victoria Park on Sunday with the Final on Monday at the Mile End Stadium. With 32 teams competing in a knockout tournament, it was the biggest of its kind. Last years champions, Stepney went out in the first round alongside potential winners Mohammadan. Beaumont made their way through the day, beating Newark and Shadwell in the closing stages.

The final saw Beaumont come up against Bromley, an upcoming and improving team, so it was not much of a surprise to be paired with them. In a thrilling final, watched by a bouyont set of over 300 spectators, Beaumont were crowned champions after Aaron slotted home in the first half. There were patches where Bromley looked dangerous, but Beaumont controlled the majority of the game and were unlucky not to have a bigger scoreline.

Beaumont Athletic FC recieved the highest accolade at the Canary Wharf Sports Personality Of The Year Awards for Tower Hamlets by picking up 'Team of the Year' alongside 'Volunteer of the Year' for manager, Mamun Chowdhury. He stated, 'I am very happy for my team and I believe they deserve the recognition. Now our first season in Senior Status is coming to an end, we will look to work and improve for next season'.

Awards were presented by John Regis on the night.
